A Tale of Two Cities (2020)

When posts like these come in one scroll of your social media page…how does your brain process it ?
Do you see such contrasts feeding indifference? Apathy?

Or do you feel, it’s reality, what’s new?

Does it make you stop & think or do you scroll without thinking.

It reminds me of this famous example of juxtaposition in literature:

“It was the best of times,

it was the worst of times,

it was the age of wisdom,

it was the age of foolishness,

it was the epoch of belief,

it was the epoch of incredulity,

it was the season of Light,

it was the season of Darkness,

it was the spring of hope,

it was the winter of despair,

we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way…”

— The opening to Charles Dickens’s “A Tale of Two Cities” (1859)
