I am a big fan of Louise Hay
Louise Hay was an American motivational author and the founder of Hay House. She authored several books, including the 1984 book, You can heal your life, which I refer to more than any other book for my counselling practice.
I love talking about Louise Hay and her personal journey of transforming life of millions.
On our recent trip to Florence, my husband and I were in this restaurant for dinner and I was earnestly talking about Louise to him, as to how she is an inspiration to me and how hugely motivating her books are.
It was an Italian restaurant with walls covered by guest reviews and signatures . People had signed their names, wrote dates they visited or dates of special occasion. They had put out love notes, messages etc. Every single inch of the wall was covered. It was a beautiful mess. It was distracting too. Between our conversations we would start reading something that caught our eyes. A joke, a phrase, a name!
As I was talking about Louise , just then I noticed her Name written on the wall at the far end from where I was sitting. Not just Louise, but Louise H.
I was stunned.
How did I spot it at the exact same time as I was talking about her. What are the chances. It left me bewildered. My husband couldn’t see what I was seeing. I got up from my seat, walked across the room and showed him what I was talking about. He was nonplussed.
He asked me, how I would explain such an occurance.
It was the closest I have experienced synchronicity, coincidences that are hard to explain.
The term synchronicity was coined by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. He defined it as “an acausal connecting principle”, a mysterious connection between the personal psyche and the material world.
To put it simply, you think of something and you notice an event with no objective connection whatsoever but for you the occurence has a meaningful connection to what you were thinking about.
Deepak Chopra, another favourite author of mine, explains, “Synchronicity is choreographed by a great, pervasive intelligence that lies at the heart of nature, and is manifest in each of us through intuitive knowledge”.
The whole incident was very fascinating for me. I do believe in an everyday sort of magic ,the inexplicable relatedness we sometimes experience.
I have been more present in my present ever since. I have experienced several such incidents but none that wowed me this much.
It was like a hello from my Hero.Just thinking of it cheers me up. It’s a moment in the past that I draw inspiration from.
It wasn’t just coincidence, it was a meaningful coincidence.
One of her famous quote says “You are the power in your world! You get to have whatever you choose to Think” ….quite literally …and I signed my name right next to hers claiming, my coveted spot.

It’s more than just Mystic Miracle experience that’s been told so well. Awesome post.
