Numerous people in Singapore have observed that plants and wildflowers have been overgrowing on the sidewalks and grass verges, giving the streetscape a more natural look.
This could likely be due to weather conditions as well as reduced frequency of grass-cutting.
Not only are wildflowers in public areas blooming, but the grass and plants in homes and condominiums are also flourishing.
I love this Bougainvillea which is peeking into my balcony from the house above.
Every time I look at it, my heart swells with happiness.
It seems to be checking on me, asking if I am doing ok?
It’s wild, untamed & gorgeous. It is reaching out to me, it catches my attention, it did not seek permission and yet I do not mind. I am approving of this intrusion.
I feel gratitude for the love it’s showering on me. A flower or two that drops into my balcony are cherished.
Every time I sit looking up to it , it reminds me to reach out to my loved ones. It gives me a gentle nudge.
Should I check if it is right time to call? Would they be sleeping? Busy?
Hey no, just go ahead & reach out! Times have changed. Everyone is home. Unexpected calls and appearances are not frowned upon, they are a source of joy just like this friendly bougainvillea.
Nature talks and I am listening. It’s a new language and I am enchanted.

I ❤️ the story and the flower!! 💐🌸🌺
