Birthday gift 🎁

“Janmashtami is the festival commemorating the appearance of Krishna in this world. He appeared 5,000 years ago in a prison cell in Mathura. Janmashtami represents the appearance of hope in the dark night of hopelessness, of virtue in the fortress of vices, through the appearance of the Absolute Truth, Krishna.

The sun rises in the East each day. Not that it is born that time, but it comes to our relative vision and with each setting, it no longer appears to our vision.

Srila Prabhupada said that Krishna is within everyone’s heart and with the sincerity of our devotion, can appear to us every day. He reciprocates to us according to our desires.”- Radhanath Swami

My sincerest desire was to get a painting of Shri Krishna home this Janamashtami. I had quite a foresight and commissioned it to an amazing artist friend in the beginning of this year. I thought that would give her enough time to do justice to my request.

However this year didn’t go as per our expectations and like all other plans this too did not come to fruition. The Artist friend is a beautiful human being and she spent all these months volunteering for the migrant worker community who were affected by Covid. She was apologetic about not being able to complete my painting given that she was spending most of her time in volunteering. I assured her I was absolutely ok and would rather she continues doing what she is doing cause that’s of far greater relevance.

My desire was not hidden from the Lord himself, he may have got a hint of my disappointment.

Another Artist friend does these art jams where in she helps complete novice to paint. She is brilliant and when she announced art jam on Krishna theme I jumped right in .The image of Krishna she proposed we make was very close to what I had in mind for the painting I wanted for my place.

The timings worked to my favour too. On the Janamashtami day I had the privilege to paint Krishna in my house along with a dear friend.

As I sat painting in front of my altar, Krishna seem to have appeared from no where. As I followed the step by step instructions , I saw the form take shape and colors filled in.

Krishna kept his promise, he appeared .

As I placed him in my altar, I can’t stop thanking him for fulfilling my wish. He is here on Janamashtami and I saw him take form and take the place I offered with all my heart♥️

  1. What more U could have asked for! U yourself gave birth to your kanha on this auspicious day! U are truly a wonderful and blessed soul🙏

May God give U in abundance whatever U dream of in life. It’s so well written as if talking to each other describing your experience, emotions and feeling. Happy Janamashtmi
